FamilyAddresses.com is a product owned by TestTogether LLC., a limited liability company doing business in the state of Idaho.
We value your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our greeting card services.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information provided about you by family or friends. This includes:
How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
The "Claim" and Shared Data Model
Our website features a unique data model where a family member may enter your contact information.
"Anti-Vandalism" Clause
Inter-User Dispute Disclaimer: FamilyAddresses.com is a neutral platform. We do not mediate personal, family, or legal disputes. You agree that any disputes regarding the accuracy or presence of data within a shared family book are to be resolved between the users. FamilyAddresses.com reserves the right to suspend any account or family list that is the subject of a legal dispute until resolved."
Right to Audit/Log: To maintain data integrity, we record which account adds, edits, or deletes information. This is only used internally to identify malicious activity and is not generally accessible to end users. Audit log information is soley at the discretion of FamilyAddresses.com and is used to keep the application running defect free.
Takedown Requests
Our system allows individuals to claim and remove their own data instantly. Please use the 'Claim My Info' link under the user profile to control your personal data that may have been entered by others. This is the fastest way to ensure your data is removed and blocked from future lists. The website utilizes phone numbers and email addresses as two factor authentication methods for what data you "own". We do not monitor and are not responsible for personal information entered by users, and give you the tool to remove it if it exists. For instance, say a user created a 'family' list of names and addresses or a friend list and knew your email address and/or phone. When you log in and validate you own the email address or phone, you can opt out of allowing anyone to use that information. If someone enters new information that includes your previously opted out phone or email, it will automatically be opted out, inheriting the state of your information.
QR Code "Kill Switch"
If a QR code is posted on social media maliciously, any family member can click "Reset Join Code." This immediately invalidates the old QR code and generates a new one. Anyone who already joined remains, but no new "nefarious actors" cannot get in. Any account created under the old QR code can be removed by a family member. QR Code join requests give QR users the ability to see the family but not edit it and take it over. QR Code Join requests must be placed within the family pedigree to become active family members.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TestTogether LLC from any claims, damages, or legal fees arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to: (a) your sharing of Join Codes with unauthorized parties, (b) your entry of inaccurate or private data for third parties, and (c) any family or domestic disputes arising from the use of shared address books.
Sharing of Information
Family Pedigree: Information in a family address book is accessible to anyone who possesses the unique Family Join Code or is linked to the Family Pedigree via an email address or phone number.
Third-Party Processors: We do not store or collect payment information. When you make a purchase, you are redirected to a third-party processor (e.g., Stripe or PayPal). Their use of your personal information is governed by their respective privacy policies.
No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal address books to third-party marketers. We do not plan on changing this policy as a core principle of the software.
Data Retention
We retain your account and address book information for the life of the website to ensure your address book remains available for future use. If you wish to have your account or specific data permanently deleted, you may do so through your account settings.
Security
We use single-use, expiring verification links (SMS and Email) to secure access to personal information. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. By using the site, you acknowledge that you share information in family groups via QR codes at your own risk. We take other osterie security measures like encrypting URL traffic to prevent modification of internal IDs and enact entropy for individuals attempting to break encryption technology. Entropy frustrates nefarious actors by removing their ability to interact with the system.
